HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

MCLEOD VALLEY SAND & GRAVEL is committed to making health and safety of its employees, contractors, equipment and the environment their primary goal.
In fulfilling this commitment to protect people, property and the environment management will provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements, and will strive to eliminate any foreseeable health and safety hazards which may result in property damage, incidents, personal injury, or illness.
MCLEOD VALLEY SAND & GRAVEL supervisors and employees will maintain the highest level of safety practices, and will be equally responsible for minimizing incidents within our company. The health and safety manual is intended for the use of all employees to follow, and better their awareness of safe work practices and procedures and aid in implementing safety on every job.
Accidental loss can be controlled through good management in combination with active employee involvement. Safety is the direct responsibility of all managers, supervisors, contractors and workers.
It is company policy of MCLEOD VALLEY SAND & GRAVEL that all management functions will comply with all company safety requirements as they relate to operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment, and to continuously upgrade and update its safety procedures and practices, in direct relation with new innovations, technologies, regulations and demands of the industry.
All employees will familiarize themselves with this manual to a level of which they feel their job can be completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and safe work practices. By working to achieve this level every employee will aid in forming a safe work place for themselves and their co-workers.
The safety information in this policy will not take precedence over Federal/Provincial OH&S Regulations. All employees should be familiar with the OH&S Act and Regulations.
